Across nearly all industries today, the use of measuring instruments to monitor and control process parameters is imperative. To ensure measurement accuracy and maintain errors within permissible limits, these instruments must undergo initial, routine, or periodic verification and calibration. This practice is essential to mitigate operational risks, minimize downtime costs, and prevent accidents during the operation of machinery and production lines.

  • Verification: A technical activity conducted according to established procedures to evaluate and confirm the conformity of products or goods with specific technical regulations. Verification is mandatory by law. Instruments that meet the requirements are issued a verification stamp or a legally valid Verification Certificate by State management agencies or designated competent bodies.
  • Calibration: The process of establishing a relationship between a measurement standard and a measuring instrument to determine errors and other metrological characteristics. Calibration is not mandatory. Based on the calibration results, the end-user determines the instrument's fitness for purpose in their specific operations.
